Paramedical Tattoo/ Scar and Stretch Mark camouflage

sec shape 1

Scar and stretch mark camouflage, or scar tattooing is a newer, scar minimizing treatment that has been gaining popularity in recent years.

Scar and stretch mark camouflage tattooing can significantly reduce the visibility of scars and stretch marks, boosting confidence. It is a non-invasive procedure and can help you feel more comfortable in your skin.  In this procedure your certified paramedical tattoo artist applies pigments to blend with the surrounding skin, reducing the appearance of scars.

The natural-looking skin tones help restore confidence by disguising scars from surgeries, including post surgery scars, injuries, burns, and skin irregularities, this procedure is also suitable for people with Vitiligo

It is important to understand that scars are long-lasting, and no scar will ever be completely invisible. Every scar is different. It lasts about 2-5 years depending on many factors.

You should wait at least 6 months to a year before considering having your scar camouflage. Swelling, reddening of the skin, or bruising can be one of the side effects after the procedure.

Typically, multiple sessions are required to achieve desired results, at least two, but sometimes four or more sessions are required for excellent results.  After your 6–8-week post procedure your scar will be assessed how the ink is settling and healing of the scar and decide if further treatments are needed.

There will be no downtime for this procedure.

Not all scars and stretch marks are suitable for this procedure, but other procedures such as Ink-less Scar Rejuvenation or Stretch Mark Rejuvenation will be suitable, or sometimes ISR will be required before the scar can be camouflaged.

Prepare for your treatment:

  • Exfoliate 3 days to a week before the appointment to get rid of any dead skin cells on your body.

    -Shave/wax areas.
-No laser treatments at least 4-6 weeks before the appointment.
  • No tanning a week or 2 priors. Please make sure your skin is not tan so we can match your correct skin tone.

-No alcohol or tobacco products a couple of days before the appointment.
  • No blood thinners 3 days before your appointment.

-Wear loose clothes the day of the appointment. The treated area will be slightly tendered.
-No lotion, oils, or sweat on the skin.
  • Not intense workout at least 2-3 days before appointment.

What to expect during your treatment:

Before the procedure the technician will match the closest ink color to the healthy skin tone and implanted into the scar tissue with a digital state-of-the-art hand piece with a fine precision needle.  A spot test will be carried out in order to achieve the closest skin tone match and best possible result.  A numbing cream will be applied to the area IF discomfort tends to be an issue.

Each session is different, depending on the size of the scar and complexity. So, timing will be determining the day of the appointment.

Some side effects after the procedure can include mild and temporary redness or swelling.  Downtime is minimal allowing clients to resume normal activities shortly after procedure.
